Vision: Discovery High aspires to become a world-class school where students acquire the knowledge and skills to be responsible, motivated, and empowered learners with the knowledge and skills to maximize our individual potential to be productive citizens.
Eligibility: Grant applications may be completed by registered students in good standing or teachers, administrators, and school staff. Applicant must have a clear goal for requested funds, to support a project, program, or student activity that fits within the framework of the mission and vision of Discovery High School Grant committee.

Applicants must:
- Be a current PTA member and
- Participate in one fundraiser or attend a Spirit Night event prior to the application deadline.
Applicant Evaluation: The Discovery High PTSA will provide grants for selected projects, programs, and/or activities that support the students of Discovery High. The focus of grant projects, programs, and/or activities should include a component to provide enhancement for Discovery High students.
Some of the items that may be used to evaluate grant applications include: - The activity supports the mission of Discovery High PTSA.
- Creativity or uniqueness of the program or project.
- Potential population benefitting from the project or program.
- Program or project focuses on a need not addressed by the school system or community source.
- Potential for continuation or repetition.
- Other funding sources sought or obtained.
All grant applications must be reviewed with and signed by the principal of Discovery High to be considered by the grant committee.
Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Applications will not be returned. Please make copies for your records.
Obligations of Grantees: Successful grantees have certain obligations in the use of grant funds for project, programs, or activities. These include, but are not necessarily limited to:
- Use of grant funds only for the purposes detailed in the grant application
- Assumption of responsibility for all expenses and liabilities associated wit the project or program.
- Insuring compliance with rules and regulations of Gwinnett County Public Schools.
- Prepare for interview or submission of additional information, if requested.
- Agree all tangible non-perishable items not consumed in the program or project remain the property of the school indicated on the grant application.
- Agree that any unused funds will be returned to the Discovery High PTSA.
Application Submission: Complete applications, signed by the applicant must be turned by the following due dates:
- September 1, 2018, for award distribution September 18, 2018
- February 5, 2019, for award distribution February 26, 2019
