Committee Descriptions
Fundraising Committee
Fundraising committee coordinates and helps the PTSA board by putting together fundraisers, Spirit Nights, and awareness events.
Hospitality Committee
Hospitality committee coordinates and helps with teacher and faculty events such as Teacher Luncheons, Teacher Appreciation Week, Custodian & School Bus Driver Appreciation Weeks and other events. This committee meets for each hospitality event.
Membership Committee
Members of the Membership committee encourage and promote 100% family, faculty and student membership in the PTSA as well as to print & distribute membership cards and information, and to maintain records of Discovery PTSA membership from year to year.
Membership Drive runs August - May.
Miss Discovery Committee
Miss Discovery Committee coordinates and helps with the planning, scheduling, workshops, set-up and breakdown of the pageants. This committee will meet frequently from Nov - Feb annually.
Reflections Committee
The Reflections Committee support student success and serve as a valuable tool for building strong partnerships in your school community. Reflections welcomes all grades and abilities to explore and be involved in the arts. Annually, thousands of students will reflect on a common theme and create original works of art in the categories of dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography, and visual arts. This committee meets from Aug- Nov.
Scholarship and Student Grants Committee
The Scholarship and Student Grants Committee support student success and serve as a valuable resource for financial assistance to students. The committee will be responsible for reviewing applications for student scholarships and/or student activity grants throughout the year.
Senior Class Trip Committee
The Senior Class Committee is established to help and support any and all Senior Activities. All details and dates for the Senior Trip are handled by the PTSA, but promoted by the school.

The Talent Show Committee coordinates and helps with the planning, scheduling, auditions, rehearsals, set-up and breakdown of the talent show. This committee will meet frequently from Dec - Mar/Apr.
